SBEK - INTERACTIVE PROJECTION MAPPING SYSTEM
PLEASE TURN SOUND ON
This is an interactive spatial installation that integrates real-time visuals and audio, with sensor-driven output.
The framework allows for the client to switch out the two 3D models (.FBX) and have them adapt to the experience. For your understanding, we can refer to them as Model 1, and Model 2. Any 3D model can be selected, to replace Models 1 or 2, and the whole installation will adapt to them accordingly. This is also possible with the sensor-activated audio files.
In the installation's inactive state, there is white noise that can be heard, similar to the sound of clouds. There is no projection and the room behind the curtain is completely dark. As a person enters the space, Model 1 emerges as a point-cloud, revealing its shape, but not its textures or materials. This is accompanied with a layer of music also emerging along with it. As the viewer moves closer to the projected surface, the model (Model 1) reveals itself in its fully textured state, all while the music gets another layer. Finally, when the viewer reaches the surface, they can raise their hand towards the projection, and watch it transform from Model 1 to Model 2. This also triggers the top layer of the audio, completing the harmony. As they remove their hand, it transitions back to Model 1 and the top layer of music dissolves. Similarly, as they leave the space, the installation regresses back through each of its states, along with the audio which dissolves layer by layer till it once again reaches a state of white noise.

Overview:
A projection mapped installation designed to transform a 3ft x 3ft matte slab into an interactive visual surface.
The system integrates:
- Real-time visuals (TouchDesigner)
- Ultrasonic + PIR Sensor input (Arduino)
- Short-throw projection mapping
- Modular UI for asset switching
